How did we manage a night away in a beautiful tzimmer in Northern Israel for under 1000 nis?
Northern Israel is packed with stunning landscapes, delicious food, and cozy accommodations, and you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy it. We planned a perfect overnight getaway for under 1000 NIS, and here’s exactly how we did it.
Stop 1: A Refreshing Dip at Nahal Asi
We kicked off our trip at Nahal Asi, a hidden gem that’s attached to Gan HaShlosha, also known as the Sachne. Unlike Gan HaShlosha, which requires an entry fee, Nahal Asi is completely free! The water stays pleasantly warm year-round, making it a great spot even on cooler winter days.
How to get there:
- Open Waze and search for חניון חוף הירוק (“Hanyon Hof HaYarok”).
- Park in the lot and head through the gate to the left.
- Follow the path until you reach the water.
This peaceful spot is perfect for a swim or just relaxing by the water’s edge.
Stop 2: Lunch at Irisku Coffee
After our swim, we drove 25 minutes to Irisku Coffee, a charming coffee cart located just outside of Afula. This little gem is a haven for those with dietary restrictions, offering plenty of gluten-free and vegan options.
The owner is gluten-free, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about cross-contamination. Every item is wrapped in baking paper before being heated, ensuring a safe experience for celiacs. The cart is dairy but open on Shabbat.
We highly recommend their gluten free toasts— a perfect way to recharge for the rest of the trip.
Address: Irisku Coffee is located near Tel Adashim, just off Route 60.
Stop 3: Cozy Stay at Kirshner Farm
For our overnight stay, we chose Kirshner Farm in Beit Lechem HaGlilit. This delightful farm has four tzimers (B&B-style cabins), each equipped with a private jacuzzi. There is also a shared heated dipping pool with a view, a larger pool during warmer months, and an outdoor kitchen. The highlight? The stay includes a homemade breakfast that’s nothing short of incredible. The food doesn’t have a teudah but is only dairy, however the coffee cart is open on Shabbat. During the weekend you have to book all four cabins but during the week you can reserve just one.
Address: Kirshner Farm, Beit Lechem HaGlilit, near Route 722.
Thanks to their ongoing sale (30% off through the end of the December 2024), this stay was a steal and fit perfectly into our budget.
Protip: Bring supplies with you to make dinner there in their outdoor kitchen.
Stop 4: A Short Hike in Little Switzerland
The next morning, we headed to Little Switzerland, a picturesque area with trails that suit all skill levels. We took the red trail to the green trail for a short circular hike. The route involves a little bit of climbing and took us about 45 minutes from start to finish.
Trail Details:
- Starting Point: Begin at the trailhead near the Little Switzerland parking area. Search for “Little Switzerland Carmel National Park” in Waze.
- Trail Markers: Follow the red trail first, then switch to the green trail to complete the loop.
- Difficulty: Easy to moderate with some light climbing.
- Duration: Approximately 45 minutes.
- Scenery: Gorgeous forested areas, rocky paths, and panoramic views of the surrounding Carmel region.
This hike offers gorgeous views and a chance to stretch your legs before heading home.
Bonus Stop: Gluten-Free Goodies in Haifa
If you’re gluten-free, don’t miss a stop at Gluten Free Bakery Haifa on your way back. Stock up on their breads and croissants — they’re kosher (Rabbanut Haifa) and absolutely delicious.
Address: Gluten Free Bakery Haifa, 15 Hasadeh Street, Haifa.
Final Thoughts
This trip combined relaxation, great food, and stunning nature — all for under 1000 NIS. Whether you’re looking for a quick escape or planning a special outing, Northern Israel has so much to offer without draining your wallet.
