If you’ve ever been in Jerusalem’s old King Solomon Hotel you’d be shocked to see it now, at least, I was!
Last week we spent a day at the newly renovated and rebranded Cassia Hotel just outside of Yemin Moshe and minutes from the Old City.
I can say without a doubt that their staff is the most attentive staff I have seen at a hotel in Israel. At first I thought it was maybe just because we were invited in, but I quickly realized that we were not special and everyone was receiving unbelievable service.
The chef came out to greet me at each meal to discuss the gluten free options and when he saw I was a little bit nervous about eating off a buffet he promptly offered to bring us a clean platter of cheeses as well as other treats.
They’re currently at work redesigning their massive fitness complex which will soon be home to a 24 hour indoor pool, a snow room, and more.
My favorite thing is that hotel is covered in cozy little corners to sit and work or relax. We had fun bouncing around from place to place and looking at the dozens of art installations by local artists. They also have a beautiful porch overlooking Karen HaYesod which is a great spot for a drink. All the restaurants are Mehdarin and open to the public.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t really do the wo

If I’m being honest, I didn’t really do the work in Elul that I wish I had done to feel ready to enter the Jewish new year. I was busy and I let it take the back burner and now it’s all hitting me at once.
This year was probably one of the most action packed years of my life and I am grateful for every second of it.
From starting the year as a newly engaged couple we are ending it married and closing out an incredible 7 year chapter of living in Jerusalem. We’re heading into the new year filled with lots excitement (and maybe a few nerves) but knowing that you can’t stay in your comfort zone forever. It feels like it’s passed the time to take a leap of faith and dream big.
This past year was filled with so much joy. I am especially thankful to have had the opportunity to bring our American friends and family together in Israel, and to show them the world we’ve built for ourselves here.
And we can’t forget the pure joy of ending the year with @adeenasussman’s new book becoming a @nytimes best seller!!!!
As we enter this Jewish new year, I hope we all find the strength to make actionable steps towards making our dreams reality, that we take big leaps of faith, and never forget to celebrate little wins along the way. Don’t wait until Rosh Hashana to take stock of all the good in your life and reflect on all you have to be grateful for. Do it in the moment, you’ll be better for it ❤️

I never in my life expected to be a bunny mom but I’m so happy I am one.

It’s been three months of covering my hair aka three months of marriage to @thegoldbandwagon and I honestly love this part of my day.
Choosing a covering each day is my own personal spiritual moment and a way to add active practice to my day. It’s a constant reminder of who I am, what my values are, and also a symbol that connects me to a large group of women. When I see other women with their hair covered I feel an instant connection and like we are part of this fun club.
My favorite way by far to cover my hair is with these stunning headbands from @switch_sratim and she was kind enough to send me 3 new styles for chag!

If you’re looking for delicious Japanese food in Israel you might be surprised to find that the best place for vegan Japanese food is in Binyamina of all places.
Tofu An is the cutest little spot with dishes centered around their homemade tofu. But, don’t let the fact it’s vegan deter you! Even my meat lover husband is a huge fan and asks to go back again and again.
They have a wide selection of gluten free dishes from sushi to noodle bowls and more. I love her fresh spring rolls and my Moshe is a big fan of the ramen.
The owner and chef at Tofu An is originally from Japan where she learned the traditional methods of tofu making. When she moved to Israel over 20 years ago she began making tofu here and dreamed of opening her own place.
You can find her on Haatzmaut St 74 in Binyamina and be sure to check via Instagram she’s open as her hours vary.
