Five Unique Can’t Miss Bars in Athens

Five Unique Can’t Miss Bars in Athens

Did you know that Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities? With over 3,400 years of rich history, there is something interesting to see on every corner. One amazing way to see the city it through its unique bars, especially the ones with rooftops! Though a bit expensive, rooftops bars offer a 360 view of the entire city and allow you to take in the vast history that lies in its alleyways all at once. Beyond the rooftops, Athens also has its fair share of quirky places to grab a cocktail after a long day of site seeing.

I must have visited 10+ bars on my 4 day trip to Athens and here are my choice of the most unique can’t miss bars in Athens!

360 Degrees

Located right in the center of town, 360 has a direct view to the Acropolis! Given the view, the 10 Euro + cocktails are well worth it. If its cold, don’t worry! You can sit under a heater to enjoy the view. I recommend getting there around sundown to really get the full effect. Make a reservation to ensure there is space!

A for Athens

Another wonderful rooftop bar, A is for Athens was my second stop on my trip. My mom and I sat on the side just overlooking the Parthenon and drank peach wine spritzers while relaxing after our short flight. It was a great place to create our plan of attack for the night and get a lay of the land from above.

Little Kook

Maybe my biggest regret of the trip is not getting to visit Little Kook! While we were visiting it was closed for decorating (for three days!) This bar goes over the top before holidays and has insane decor. They are also known for ridiculous sweets like hot chocolate topped with donuts, massive cakes, and more!

Noel, “The Holiday Bar”

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think this photo really speaks for itself! My mom had read about this bar and was dying to go so we stopped in for an afternoon drink. The bar is multiple rooms, each with a completely different feel! Their drinks are all super interesting and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I had the Dalida, a cucumber sesame drink which light and refreshing! Exactly what you need after walking around for hours.

Noel is easily one of the most unique bars in Athens and they even have a full menu making it a great dinner spot! (gluten free options available)

Tazza All Day Bistro & Wine Bar

This cute wine bar is located just near the airport bus and my pick for the best way to end your trip! Covered in antiques, Tazza is the perfect place to rest after a wonderful vacation. It feels so homey and they even give you fluffy blankets outside! They have a fully stocked cocktail bar, delicious potato wedges, and the most delicious yogurt parfaits. Highly recommend stopping here for a drink and a snack before hitting the airport or when you’re in need of a quiet break.
