How to see (Gluten Free) Asheville in 3 days…

One of my all time favorite weekend get aways is Asheville, NC. Nestled near the beautiful Pisgah national forest, Asheville is a haven for music lovers, vegans, and celiacs. In May of 2017, my mom and I hit the blue ridge parkway in celebration of my college graduation, summa cum laude if I can add in a humble brag.

Israel, you never fail to wow me... After mention Israel, you never fail to wow me... After mentioning I was dying to go on a challenging hike, @arianaisraeltours took me to Shvil Tzapit to check out a stunning view of the Dead Sea. Located in Ein Gedi, it’s about an hours drive from Jerusalem. The trail costs 28 shekels to enter and starts behind the Field School just a few minutes from the National Park. After about an hour and half climb straight up, we started our decent into the dry stream which led us to this incredible view. In addition to the view, there were small natural pools of water (at this time of year they’re a bit gross and not for swimming). We took a snack break in the shade here before heading back up towards Mearat Duddim which has a natural stream and waterfalls. The entire hike took us around 6 hours and including some truly breathtaking views and lots of places to stop and swim. It was easily one of my favorite hikes I’ve done in the area and if you’re looking for a cool place to go this is worth the climb! Ein’t no mountain high enough to keep me from getting to view baby....
Meshek Barzilay is one of those gluten free friend Meshek Barzilay is one of those gluten free friendly places that is simply tried and true. They’re also vegan! Located in the sweetest little spot in Neve Tzedek, Meshek has two sides: the restaurant and the deli. I love both but am partial to the brunch menu at the restaurant. However, the deli is a great place to grab a snack, take out for shabbat, or enjoy a gluten free cooking workshop. The deli is Kosher while the restaurant is not (it is open on Shabbat.) The delis always has a few different gluten free cakes to choose from, crackers, vegan cheeses, cookies and spreads. They also have an ever changing selection of readymade meals. If you go a little (barzi)layter they also serve wine and fun cocktails! #theisraelbiteskosher #glutenfreetlv #jazziedoestlv
If I’m not 70 years old, retired, and napping in If I’m not 70 years old, retired, and napping in a field after a wine tasting at @tulipwinery ... I don’t want it. (Peep the guys in the back) Had the best time today with @wine_on_the_vine visiting an older favorite (Tulip) and @jezreelwinery which I had never been to before! The best wines of the day were the Sparkling Rose from Jezreel and the Sauv Blanc Gewurtztraminer blend from Tulip. You can order both via israwines.com in Israel and America! #hosted
Don’t go bourekan my heart and remind me Pesach Don’t go bourekan my heart and remind me Pesach is only 1 week a year. The good news is @arielbakery_natanya has gluten free options year round. I love their frozen bourekas and was so happy to get to try some fresh out of the oven. They also had a huge selection of cookies and sweet treats. I was mostly excited to find a gf iced coffee for the first time in a long time! Thanks @theceliacland for inviting me to crash your Yom Kef.
Hi my name is Jazzie. I’ll be 25 years old in a Hi my name is Jazzie. I’ll be 25 years old in a week, I have celiac disease, and Passover is my favorite holiday. @roladin_il these gluten free bourekas just made my year. Chag gluten free sameach everyone 💗
Israel is welcome to stop going to elections at an Israel is welcome to stop going to elections at any time, but I can’t complain about the excuse to take the day off and explore with friends. We started the day off at Givat Tom vTomer which is a park in honor of the 73 soldiers killed in the helicopter disaster of 1997. Its a beautiful walk filled with flowers and pays tribute to the lives that were lost. Next we headed south to @tzeela.dairy for a delicious picnic lunch of cheeses, salads, spreads, and gluten free bread! Lastly we followed parts of דרך הבשור (an 80 km driving trail with cool points of interest) to a small tel, Tel Sharuhen, which overlooks stunning views of the area. Even with the most uncooperative windy overcast weather, it was a perfect day. Don’t forget to pak(al) some coffee and fruit for a pitstop on your next hiking day. Thanks @arianaisraeltours for guiding us through the day and @leoraeatkiewicz for the pics.
